Lukas Geronimas, was born and raised in Toronto, Canada, attended a specialty visual arts high school in Etobicoke, Ontario, the University of British Columbia for my undergraduate degree, and am currently attending an MFA program at Bard College. My first experience exhibiting work in 2003 introduced me to artist-run centers in Vancouver and Toronto, and I have since had the opportunity to show in a variety of spaces, including the Toronto International Art Fair, and ArtSpeak, Tokyo. My work on paper often depicts an elaborate interior landscape, or the explosive rupture of an interior stasis, drawn with a brush using india ink. My small-scale sculptures are cast and cultivated using objects from my larger sculptural practice, which is an exploration of individual narrative and the permissions required to move this narrative out of an interior dialogue and into the community-at-large; three way tennis between the intellectual, material and social.
