Welcome to the inaugural issue of Lifetime zine. This has been a long time coming for us. The zine was born from our original Lifetime Books that were published along with our catalogs. The zine will provide a home for interviews, artwork, photographs, travel logs, ramblings, stories and articles on Lifetime and the world via our friends in the Collective. It will provide a place where we can communicate to you (the reader) our ideas, thoughts, dreams and wishes. This first issue touches on an
overarching theme of "The creative process," and what that might mean to us all.
In the following pages you’ll find a story on Berlin and what it was like growing up there. Our friend Sven Frontmann from Lodown magazine was kind enough to let us into his world to see what that was like. We also talked with talented artist and musician Chad VanGaalen and chatted about life, family and creativity. Jay Howell talks to us about his upcoming collaboration “Wave Taggers”
series, living in LA and his upcoming art show in Tokyo. From there we head to Toronto and take a studio visit with long time Collective artist Niall McClelland. We also feature our new women’s designer Jude Feller and talk to Ken Diamond about an upcoming collaboration. We talk to Salazar Collective creative film team that makes the seasonal Lifetime short videos.
We hope you enjoy and thanks again for reading!
